On 28th January 2018 (on the date of 12th the twelfth month of Lunar Calendar), “comfortable and mindful heart of Chan (dhyāna)” the Seven-day Chan (dhyāna) Meditation  assembly (three weeks) ended successfully at Ding You year of Lunar Calendar in the Nanputuo Temple; therefore, the completion ritual was held. The last incense of Seven-day Meditation, the Most Ven. Ze Wu (the abbot of Nanputou Temple) guided the practitioners with admonishment and verification, and hosted the completion of the Seven-day meditation ritual.

Before noon, according to the regulations of the Meditation Hall, the Most Ven. Ze Wu checked and verified the standard of the participants of the meditation, and examined whether the practitioners have any resultant. Having completed the examination, the practitioners were silence with calmness. Ven. Ze Wu held the incense wood to give admonishment compassionately towards all the monks who are engaged in meditation.

Subsequently, the Most Ven. Ze Wu explained the great condition of the Seven-day Meditation, and admonished the people to practice the mindfulness (Chan) in their daily lives. Venerable preached: “How can we achieve the purity of body, speed and mind (three kinds of actions)?”  “That is repentance; one should repent his or her various previous unwholesome actions (related to body, speech, and mind). If we could not do it, it will emerge different kinds of hindrances or obstacles during the process of practice. Having completed the Seven-day meditation, everyone should make a vow - to practice śamatha and vipaśyanā (development of tranquility and insight of wisdom) well in this life and always with perseverance of mind to practice meditation and seek for liberation. Indeed, the most precious treasure of Buddhism is śamatha and vipaśyanā which is practicing mediation. Only through practicing śamatha and vipaśyanā, one can possess with pure mind and able to see the essence (reality), then only one can eradicate the defilements and attain enlightenment in order to escape the Sasāra (transmigration). In fact, it is not easy to practice śamatha and vipaśyanā if one does not have sufficient virtue and fortune. “Why when practicing meditation, one needs a quiet place?”  Before the mind has not be stable, one needs a good environment, normally people are changed by the environment and only the saint can apply the mind to change the environment (not affect by the environment); therefore, the fortune and virtue are important sources for practicing meditation. At last people who practice meditation should practice the mindfulness (Chan) in their daily lives. During the Seven-day meditation, all the practitioners could observe the body, speed and mind (three kinds of actions). However, after completing the Seven-day meditation, the unwholesome habits have slowly emerged; for this reason, we should insist to practice every day like little water which runs to make a long stream, and apply the Dharma into walking, staying, sitting and sleeping; it is very difficult but we need to reflect and utilize in every moment.”

After the time of silence, they stood two sides:  east and west and waited for completing Seven-day. Ven. Jin Xiang (the secretary of Nanputuo) entered the hall and passed the plate of releasing Seven-day to the Hall manager (karmadāna) who represented the group to invite the abbot Ven. Ze Wu to release the Seven-day meditation. The abbot kindly accepted invitation and walked forward to the meditation hall for preaching. Having completed preaching, the abbot Ven. Ze Wu took the bomboo tube which contains two words “directly pointed”, simultaneously claimed “releasing!” The multitude worshipped three times the Buddha and indicated their gratitude towards host master of seven-day, karmadāna, the protected monks, and the Seven-day mediation assembly ended successfully.

Since 8th of January, the diligent Seven-day meditation was held consecutively for 21 days. The monastics and Buddhist disciples came from different provinces and places. During the practicing period, they were led by the most Ven.  Ze wu and the management team to practice the meditation, walking meditation, contemplation,   śamatha and vipaśyanā according to the Vinaya and Dharma. Consequently, they cultivated the knowledge of Dharma and wisdom and attained physical and psychological calmness and tranquillity.
